This is how it started…

After working for over three years with a well-known dental instrument brand called USA Delta, their team reached out to me to lead the launch of a new brand of osteosynthesis materials, initially focused on maxillofacial surgery.

They needed more than just the branding — the project also included a website, catalog, social media presence, and a launch video. However, after gaining a deeper understanding of the market and how these products are commercialized, we decided to take it a step further and design a truly innovative product:

a modular container, capable of fitting into a dental autoclave and customized to hold each of the brand’s products, while remaining flexible and adaptable to inventory changes.

After six weeks of proposals and redesigns, we reached the first prototype, which we 3D-printed to evaluate its feasibility with the partners, while simultaneously developing the branding and website.

The first version still required refinements to ensure usability and product language consistency. After ten months of development, we achieved the final result — a design that went straight from the factory to the maxillofacial surgery congress, where it caught everyone’s attention and helped close major business deals.

First Version:

This was the first iteration of the container. Before being manufactured in aluminum, it was 3D printed, allowing us to get an initial insight into the final result. Although it was fully functional and aligned with the initial requirements, it still had areas for improvement — particularly in usability and product language, as it wasn’t entirely intuitive and its mass production was challenging.

Second Version:

For the final outcome, we developed a product with an asymmetric shape that makes it more intuitive and includes visual cues to guide the user on how to operate it. Additionally, the color elements were adjusted to simplify manufacturing and achieve a more consistent overall finish.
